Cantemo To Demo Portal 4.1 Update At IBC
Cantemo, a provider of next-generation media management solutions, will demonstrate its latest update to its media asset management system, Portal, at IBC (Sept. 13-17, RAI Amsterdam). The latest update launches a range of new features including an improved search interface and Final Cut Pro X Workflow Extension.
Focused on the needs of the broadcast industry, Portal’s latest version, 4.1, provides users with an improved search facility. The new interface automatically displays search filters, collections, saved searches and search history which allows users to find content quickly and intuitively. Additionally, Portal 4.1 supports free-text searches for administrators to find specific field data within asset metadata.
The Portal 4.1 update introduces a Final Cut Pro X workflow extension which allows editors to access media without leaving projects. It allows users to preview, add metadata and drag media into a timeline, creating a practical and convenient media management workflow. Portal 4.1 allows users to render subclips created by the Annotation tool as new assets from within the interface.
Additional features include an improved user interface, offering personalised notifications and health check reports, as well as granular control over users through the Portal API. User roles can now be categorised into UI and API roles, allowing system administrators to create API-only users.
Parham Azimi, Cantemo’s CEO, said: “We’re constantly focusing on developing Portal’s practicality through innovative features and improved designs. Our latest update enhances the user experience through strategically designed and placed features which have enriched the media workflow. I’m really looking forward to demonstrating Portal 4.1 at IBC – it will be great to see media editors interact with our latest developments.”
The new features will be showcased at Cantemo’s IBC booth (7.D67). Cantemo’s solutions integrate with a range of other areas of the workflow. On its booth this year, Backblaze, iXSystems, and OpenDrives, will be present to demonstrate their integrated solutions.
