Telemundo Boston Launching Local News

WNEU will begin airing local news at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. starting Monday, the first time ever for the Spanish-language station. The addition of the newscasts, Noticiero Telemundo Boston, is the latest in a series of efforts to bolster local news at Telemundo stations across the country.

Telemundo’s WNEU To Add Evening News

Telemundo’s Boston station plans to launch its first local Spanish-language newscasts this summer, the latest step in a push by parent company NBCUniversal to add programming for Hispanic viewers. The station says it will hire five journalists to produce two half-hour newscasts on weekdays at 6 and 11 p.m. WNEU will share studio space, footage and sometimes personnel with New England Cable News, another NBCU property with an editorial staff of about 130.
