Tech leaders from CNBC, Fox Television Stations, Gray Television and Sinclair told a NewsTECHForum audience earlier this week that flexibility and speed are driving their implementation of a range of new technology, from LED displays and AR graphics to more expansive remote production and use of the cloud.

Politics isn’t the only giant news story in our nation’s capital. In recent days, the newsrooms were all over the $6 billion sale of the NFL’s Washington Commanders. It’s been a bleak period for the D.C. sports teams, including the underperforming Commanders, Nationals, Capitals and Wizards, but the locals hope the new Commanders owner will shake things up for the better.

Members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees who work for Fox-owned WNYW New York and WTTG Washington say they are feeling the pinch of the drawn out negotiations for a new bargaining agreement.

Fox-owned WTTG (Fox) and WDCA (MNT) are now broadcasting from 7272 Wisconsin Ave. in suburban Bethesda, Md., which is about two miles from their previous location at 5151 Wisconsin Ave. in the District of Columbia where the stations had been located since 1966.

Beginning later this summer, the school’s WHUT (PBS) will serve as the host station for NextGen TV broadcasts for itself and WJLA (ABC), WUSA (CBS), WTTG (Fox), and WRC (NBC).
